I rejected my Jewish religion after being forced to have a bat mitzvah. it felt performative, especially memorizing all of the prayers and services in another language. spirituality was difficult for me to separate from religion, so I rejected being spiritual too. and yet... I felt deep connection whenever I was alone in nature. I noticed synchronicity. I had a strong intuition that there were energy currents all around me, and felt the sensation of dipping into them. I became more comfortable with the term "spiritual" over the past few years, and it's felt like a reclamation of childlike wonder and awe in our universe. ✨🦋
