Writing The Body
next week I'm giving a workshop for creatives to get out of their minds, come!
“I don’t like writing, I like to have written” Dorothy Parker
Writing is a complex endeavour. Finding out the best way to express the meanders of my interior world has been a beautiful and challenging journey. In a world that primes logic over emotion, being a creative has sometimes felt isolating and exhausting, as if running against a current.
For years I researched ways to get out of my head and into my body, which is where the root of my creativity lies. I found many methods that helped me make my writing what it is today, and I still use them to this day. I want to share these with you, so I am inviting you to my next workshop Writing The Body.
I created this workshop because I wish I had attended one of these back in the day, and because it was always in moments of community and care that I found the most incredible solutions. Writing the Body is a transformative workshop that guides writers and creatives to reconnect with their bodies and creativity. In a world dominated by logic and intellectual pursuits, this workshop invites participants to a revolutionary act – embracing the wisdom that arises when we inhabit our physical selves.
When: 9th December 2024
Time: 18:30 CET
Where: Online
Price: 11 Euros
Using music, creative prompts, embodiment exercises and other sensorial methods, we delve into our interior world (which feels very fitting for this time of year as we go into winter).
Writing and creating require a lot of headwork, and so many of us know how to do be in our minds very well. But we create through emotions, and those live in the body. This workshop is for aspiring writers, creatives, artists, or simply anyone who needs a creative outlet.
Here’s what people have said about it:
“Writing the Body was just what I needed! The embodiment preparation and writing prompts allowed me to access my internal world in ways I had not before, and it was profoundly connecting experience listening to others read their work. I had a very restful, deep sleep and mad symbolic dreams that night, and woke up feeling clear in my mind and peaceful. A joyful experience”
“Virginia's workshop was very interesting and inspiring. I loved the different perspectives, ideas, and recommendations she brought to each topic and how she encouraged expression above productivity. It helped me get out of my head and just start writing. I would definitely recommend her workshops for an interesting and personal experience.”
